Who We Are

In 2010, a tutorial was started by Ms Sharmila Banerjee (M.A., B.Ed) with a handful of students in a rented house. Its invincible spirit has enabled it to meet both challenges and victories with equal tenacity. In 2020 the education centre has got its own setup and Government recognition. It has always been Ms Banerjee’s sincere endeavour to create a pleasant atmosphere for her students to study. With her 20 years of experience in the respective field, she has been trying to bring out the best in the students.

Their achievements are not only limited to the field of academics like  doctor, engineer, lawyer, nutritionist but also in other fields like music, dance, acting, content creation, cooking and many more.

Samvid – back to the roots has its firm footing on culture with the perceptions and ideas of Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Education here enables students to discover his/her hidden talents to the utmost extent. Different cultural programmes, essay writing competitions and campaigns are observed on ২৫ শে বৈশাখ, Independence Day, Republic Day, Teachers’ Day, World Students’ Day and Children’s Day. Some of the programmes were uploaded on YouTube.

A day’s outing/picnic is organised in winter to refresh the tired nerves, a relief from the monotonous routine. Students learn the value of collaboration, communication and cooperation through a picnic.

The centre of learning has inculcated a sense of social awareness in the tender minds of the students. All the students raised clothes, food items/groceries and generous donations to provide bit relief to the Amphan affected people of a remote village at Shyampur. Our next event will be mask, clothes and blanket distribution to the poor and homeless in December 2020.
